Lazy 5 Ranch

We kicked off our hot October with a trip to Lazy 5 Ranch with some of our buddies. What an adventure! Lots of animals to pet and feed and observe. The giraffes and buffalo were some of the favorites. Fearless Grayson tried to grab the buffalo's big horns. And the giraffe slobbered all over Tait's head.

Fall Soccer

Tait is playing on his first little soccer team at a local church. His best buddies, Bryce and Tyler, are on his team and he loves his coaches--Daddy and Dustin! They play 3 v. 3 on a tiny field, but I think Tait would probably confess that rolling down the big grass hill is just as fun as the soccer:)!

Summer Highlights

A little behind on the summer blogging. Here's a quick overview: Allen family camp in Lake Geneva, WI. Tait and Jamie got baptized in the lake. Visit to Wausau, WI to see Uncle Matt and Papa Jim's baseball game. Chris and Jamie to Africa; Tait and Grayson to the Midwest. End of the summer wedding of Grandma Sue and John over Labor Day weekend.

Hilton Head 2007

Can't beat a free week in Hilton Head. We had a beautiful condo on the river, yet close enough to walk across the street to the beach each day. Our week was filled with building sand castles, jumping waves, catching crabs (Grayson only got pinched a few times), climbing a lighthouse, biking as a family, taking long naps, golfing and a little soccer for Chris, reading and resting for Jamie, and visiting with some old Eagle/soccer friends. What fun! Praise Him for good family time!

Papa Paul to NC

We all enjoyed Papa Paul in Charlotte for a quick visit. We took him down to Daddy's office and to the Dilworth park one day. The next day Papa took Tait and Grayson on a little adventure to Matthews to see some trains and some chicks. That night we spent the evening in the boat on Lake Wylie. The boys love their Papa!

Lots of Guests

Lots of family and friends in town for Melissa's shower. Let's see...Grandma Sue, Aunt Sarah, Uncle Jason, Uncle Mark, Michele, Robin, Amy and Jenna Yount. The boys love having company!

Neverending Fun

How many crazies can a tire swing hold if a tire swing could hold crazies? Love the boy action!

April Visitor

Auntie Shorty came to visit us at the end of April. We stayed busy during her week's stay: visited Matt at High Point, visited Daddy at work, ate lunch at the park, played on the swingset, etc. It was nice to have extra hands, and I'm even proud of Shorty...we didn't have to do any big projects.

EASTER

Who would have thought we'd be in shorts in one Easter egg hunt and in coats and hats in the next? Just how many egg hunts did we do? Maybe averaged at least one a day in the month of April!

High Point Baseball Game

On Wednesday we took a road trip to High Point. It was a beautiful, sunny day in the 60's. Tait and Grayson played around the stadium while High Point played UNCG. Tait's highlight was finding an old home run baseball and his low light was losing it through the fence. Meltdown! The game went back and forth, but HP pulled out a W in the end. We enjoyed dinner with Matt and Zach (his roommate) and a visit to Matt's new apartment. The boys sure miss Uncle Matt!

GETAWAY TO THE NC MOUNTAINS

We spent a weekend away in the mountains with our best buddies, the Swinehart family. Five boys four and under and four adults in a beautiful home (thanks to some friends)=crazy fun! We were hoping for snow, but the warmer, sunny weather made it just right for some hikes.

Shaving Brothers

It's amazing how a little bit of shaving cream can provide hours of entertainment. A joy to see these little guys developing a relationship that even goes beyond hitting and wrestling!
